-- Why is ART getting UGLY ?! --

Look around galleries today and check out exhibitions and one can
observe a most enormous and profound display of ugliness.

They say that beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but you shouldn’t
believe that. Some artists are just plain ugly.
(...)
Art is not ugly because of an ugly artist, the ugly artist can paint
about beauty and show the beauty within him and beautiful artists can
paint just the most repugnant shit mankind will ever see and still
appear as coy and lovely as balloon. But as they say, the apple does
not fall far from the tree, rather than merely judging appearances, art
works are the way they are because of something significant that
happened in the life of the artist. The artists and his experience is
still the final thing that gives body to the execution of the work. The
appearance of an artwork depends on the skill and training of the
artist (but then again, this is me talking about the other kind of ugly
art which can infect even the veteran.) But the consciously made ugly
art is, let me remind you, the topic of this explanation.

Indeed - WHY?

*We must rescue art from the modern intoxication with ugliness!*

Probably we must.
But how?

UGLINESS has already destroyed the very esthetic perception and
overall taste of humans en masse.

Don't discard the principles of beauty, high art & aesthetics.
Stand by them and follow them in your own creative work.
That'll be already something!

More than that?
It will depend on your level of responsibility and involvement.
